Three Indian Actors Required for Student Short Film

Three Indian Actors Required for Student Short Film

Victoria, Australia
Listed by View details

First Night | 11 min Short Film | Single Scene | Drama

A Gujarati couple forced into an arranged marriage to please their parents, find themselves at an impasse on their wedding night. Both in the 40's, both shy and both virgins. They must overcome their timidity first before they find their voice to speak their truth.

First Night is written and directed by Dimple Rajyaguru and produced by Mimo Mukii. We are both emerging independent filmmakers based in Melbourne, with short films that have screened at film festivals, nationally and internationally. This student film will also be the pilot episode of an anthology web series.

All body shapes, height, complexions, and people with disabilities and LGBTQIA+ are encouraged to apply.

Intimacy: We want to suggest intimacy without showing it on screen because it's not in line with the story or it's characters. e.g. laying in the bed next to the other actor, hugging, and holding hands, maybe kiss on the cheek and forehead and suggestion a kiss on the lip without any physical kiss. Actors will be fully clothed. It's important our actors feel safe so we'll take into account what they're comfortable with.
