'GIRL' is the story of a quirky, modern day female, and her relationship with her un-generic father. The two live in a small country town and run a small family-owned mechanic garage.
After the sudden passing of her father, our protagonist must find the courage to go on, taking over his legacy and running the garage alone, facing prejudice and sexist comments.
In the end, it wasn’t that she wasn't strong enough... it was society that broke her.
Our protagonist is a loud, blunt, obnoxious and hilarious tom-boy who tackles these dark topics with humour, but ultimately, it eventually breaks her.
GIRL will be heavily reliant on the character’s unique mannerisms and behaviours, as well as beautifully crafted cinematography. This film will be shot in B&W to address the expectations of women in older films, and subverting the typically elegant female side character. The town will have an old school appearance, as if the town were projecting their old school values on a modern day female, where her and her father do not fit in, living in their own quirky bubble of misfits.
We'd love to hear from you!
