He wishes he had a closer relationship with his grandfather, who is the only remaining of a "father figure" in his life. He knows both his dad and grandpa drink too much and is conscious this behaviour is toxic. Despite his young age he is capable of discernment and tries making the most of this situation. In this immense maturity also lies fragility that can only be outgrown by protecting himself from danger and learning when to trust unreliable relatives.

Old Man
Rough looking old man, 65–80-year-old playing age. He is the father of the Boy's dad. He is wise enough to know where he goes wrong, but too old to change his bad habits. He is an alcoholic but doesn't want that for his grandson. Behind an emotional wall built on dysfunctional family dynamics he wants to rebuild lost trust and be there for him. He grabs the opportunity to do so when he sees the boy taking fall after fall in their neighbourhood. He gives him life advice disguised in a bike lesson as a last resort to show his clumsy love for him.

Mother
She suddenly became a single mom after her alcoholic husband deserted their household. She gave up all her free time to provide for her kid, works long hours every day to make ends meet.
