A recent government report stated "THERE IS NO INSTITUTIONAL RACISM IN THE UK". Five playwrights were challenged to write a creative response to this statement. They have created a number of 10 minute plays, monologues and some poetry for performance.
The performance will be live for one evening only. It will be recorded and small segments of the recording will be used to publicise future projects.
Lyla is an Independent Therapeutic Theatre Practitioner, an Arts Activist, playwright, actor, theatre director and counsellor using her skills to produce fact-based, challenging, engaging, entertaining and truthful theatre.
You will be required as an actor to possibly play more than one character.
And If you are an actor of Afrikan descent you may be required to speak with a Caribbean or African accent.
Audition / Rehearsal / Production datesRehearsals will be held every Monday @ 6pm to 9pm (beginning Monday 21st June to 12th July). Tech will be held on 5th July and the performance on 12th July.
Unpaid – this is a collaboration opportunity
Expenses paid - Expenses £25.00 per day - x4 days = £100 total for rehearsals and show
Collaborations should create mutual benefit and are usually amateur, student or 'Time for Print' projects.
