This isn't a normal casting call for film/show. We are a team of researchers from UWA looking for an actor to pretend to be a research participant in a series of team-based experiments (i.e., you'll be attempting to 'blend in' with other participants, when really you've been trained to participate in the experiment a certain way).
*DATES & TIMES*
- Tuesdays 1pm - 6pm; Wednesdays 8am - 12pm
Ongoing from October until March 1st (pilot study); ongoing throughout 2022.
- $20.33-25/hr (paid through your ABN).
UWA Business School
Researchers from the University of Western Australia Business School (in collaboration with colleagues from UniSA, ACU, and UniMelb) are seeking two students with acting experience to play the role of leader and participant in a computer-based team simulation which will be run over Zoom. This turn-based simulation, Everest v3, requires five individuals to collaboratively make decisions as they climb Mt. Everest, earning points as they achieve goals.
For the purposes of the research, two of these five roles will be filled by actors pretending to be participants. One role will be that of the climb’s leader, and another will be that of a regular climber.
The actor in the role of leader will be trained to verbally direct climbers using a combination of directive (assertive) and empowering leadership styles. The actor in the role of climber will be trained to initiate and verbalise an event in the simulation that sparks the leader’s use of the above leadership styles.
We will be running these simulations each week at the stated times and are seeking someone with availability on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout 2022.
*REQUIREMENTS & ROLE*
- Acting experience (unpaid or minimal is fine)
- Gender: Male
