I wanted to show a contrast between the performative appearance to a casual environment (this environment could be at home, or anywhere one may spend normal day to day life).
The project will be more than just a modelling job. I want to portray a very clear idea of who your drag character is and how they carry themselves. Every character is different and I want to show that there is more to drag performances than the appearance.
The shoot will be a casual one-to-one arrangement involving an interview and then some shots documenting the process of getting into character- with hair and make up etc.
This will be followed up with candid portrait shots with creative direction being a two way process. I want to see how you wish to portray yourself in character.
The shoot will be concluded with a follow up interview to get your character's perspective on things!
The shoot will take place between 13th of December and 23rd of December (whatever date works best for you!). Shoot location will be negotiated as well.
I'm looking for artists who want more than just portfolio shots. I would like this project to be about creative expression and I would love to learn about the backgrounds of your unique character.
Final images to be made into photo book and an exhibition in the new year, and of course you will be given your images to use as you please.
I look forward to hearing from you!
