Six and Out is a short film which follows the alcohol fueled, one day cricket test match between high school friends Brendan and James. Overtime, this game has become an annual tradition and prime entertainment for their suburban community. However, on the fifth anniversary of the game, friendships are challenged not only from within by James' relationship with his girlfriend Sally, but also by local council members Gordan Rue and Derek Lee, who disapprove of the game’s glorification of intoxication and plan to end it once and for all.

For the film, we are looking for our two council members, Gordon Rue and Derek Lee. Gordon is your classic bumbling villain, similar to that of Dean Wormer from Animal House or Harold Gribble from Round The Twist. Derek is his right hand man, easily ignored and pushed around by Gordon. We will also need a no-nonsense umpire for the film, someone who can play an Alf Stewart type role to rule over the game. Finally, we will also need two commentators for the match, each with your classic Channel 9 NRL coverage booming voices and heavy presence narrating the game.

This film is my first venture into short film making outside of my university studies. I aim to create a fun and entertaining set to reflect the tone I hope to achieve on the film itself, as well as being efficient and to schedule. The shoot will take place over five days in January, however actors will only need to be present for 1-3 days depending on their role. Lunch will be provided and more details will be given upon audition and contact.

Audition / Rehearsal / Production dates

Shooting between Wednesday 16th January - Sunday 20th January 2019. Different roles require different availability, which can be discussed upon audition.
