Hussain, a young closeted gay Muslim man with aspirations of being an actor, must deal with his conservative parents that - as they are living in another city - think that he's working as a lawyer. However, he's spending his time attending failed auditions and working at a bar. We see him deal with juggling his lies, sexual orientation and religion as he journeys to either achieve his dreams or conform to his family's ideals.

Tazeem Hussain (Mother)
Tazeem is closest to Hussain, the lead. She adores him and is proud of his every move. However, due to her upbringing she does have some conservative values, despite a liberal upfront. She values her family's happiness, but Islam comes first, as well as ensuring her husband is happy. Her relationship with her son is important to her, but as their relationship goes through hard times, she deals with either sticking to her values or understanding her son.
