Actor Musicians Wanted for 'Spectacular' Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2019
Tiny T's will be performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2019 from 5th Aug- 18th Aug (14 shows exactly). This is an original play written for children 4+ and families using puppetry and live music to create a magical show with important moral messages for the audience to take home, all about family love, working as a team and using your imagination. Puppeteer experience is not a must but you will definitely be more likely considered if you do have experience.
The show is about a young girl who receives magical glasses that allow her dreams to come alive. With this she saves her family from losing their home and discovers lots of other moral messages.
I am looking for strong actor musicians with a passion for the arts and working with children. Any instrument is great, the quirkier the better! If you play multiple instruments that's even better. The script is now almost finalised however the most creative part will be rehearsals, when the actors will come together to create the piece as a team. I have not written or added any of the music in the show yet and so I am really looking for actor musicians that would be wanting to get heavily involved in this part, so we can call the show ours instead of just mine (the writer's). I am acting myself in the show so really looking for people who are creative, fun, outgoing, enthusiastic with a great sense of humour and a great work ethic.
Before we perform in Edinburgh I am going to organise a local fundraising show for local families to come along to and any money raised will go towards our materials, accommodation, travel and of course any payment to the actors I possibly can. ACCOMMODATION WILL BE PROVIDED IN EDINBURGH.
I would be very much keen for the actors to come up with other fundraising ideas too as I really want to be able to have something to give the actors at the end of this.
Actors must be able to travel to Hertfordshire and/or London for rehearsals from end of April/ beginning of May- end of July.Rehearsal space not confirmed yet and once all the actors are together I will put together a schedule with whatever suits everyone best time wise. We will probably be rehearsing a few times a week.
Actors MUST be able to commit once agreeing to do the job and must be able to commit to staying in Edinburgh from 1st August 2019- 18th August 2019.
After the shows in Edinburgh I am hoping to tour the show and write more so I really am looking for actor-musicians who would like further work (however this is not compulsory if you decide not to after the run in Edinburgh.) Tiny T's Tiny Theatre company will tour different theatres and primary schools in England in the future, however the most important thing to think about is Ed Fringe 2019!
Looking forward to hearing from you creative people! T x
Audition / Rehearsal / Production datesSelf tape auditions will be fine as I am keeping the budget low! If I want to see more I may ask to audition you and meet you in person. Rehearsals will not be confirmed until all actors are cast and we meet for the first time in APRIL to discuss rehearsal times.

Mum is a child at heart; creative, fun, imaginative. Her dream is to paint for a living. However, her parents had told her that being an artist was not a 'real' job, so she is broken inside but on the surface acts as if she is strong for her two children. Any accent or physical characteristics are fine, however must have a mature aura about her. MUM will also be puppeteering in the play so experience would be amazing! Also to be able to play an instrument as stated in description is a must.
Females, aged 25 to 60 from United Kingdom
Mika is our heroine's twin sister. She is smart, sensible and sensitive. Although she is the more mature one out of the two, deep down she is desperate to play with her sister again and be silly and creative.
Must have dark features, UNDER 5ft4. Must have a young appearance as we are playing 9 year olds.
Females, aged 18 to 29 from United Kingdom
Mr Marvin / Caterpillar
Mr Marvin and Caterpillar are the same character, only man and puppet. Think silly children's book character. Caterpillar is much like Caterpillar in James and The Giant peach; cheeky, bouncy and full of funny sayings. He is clumsy and playful however he has a wise side to him, as he tells the story in character. Any character voices I'd love to hear in the audition, however the accent I am thinking of is HIGHTENED RP.
MUSICIAN IS A MUST! The more instruments the better. Must be able to sing.
Males, aged 18 and over from United Kingdom
