End of the Line is about a train journey into the afterlife:

Imagine waking up on the most peculiar train of your life, then finding out it has no tracks. Ravi wakes up on a journey into the afterlife. All you had to do to board this train was die, the hard part is getting off.

We follow the lives of six characters on board the train as they try to rid themselves of their hang ups and worries in life in order to make it to the real 'afterlife'. Firstly you will see how the characters deal with being on the afterlife train and then they will begin trying to get off.

I will be doing a pilot (Short) version of this film and hopefully from thus 20 minute film, the feature will be made soon after! This short will be submitted into over 7 festivals this year!


All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Audition / Rehearsal / Production dates

Auditions will take place throughout February.
Rehearsals and cast meetings will take place at the end of February and early March.
Shooting will take place at the end of March and there may be a possibility of reshoots in April.

Ravi

Ravi, 47, is the main character who just boards the train, he has to come to terms with the fact he has died and then has to figure out what it is that is keeping him on the train.
Before Ravi died he divorced his wife 2 years earlier and had constantly let down his grown up son and 2 daughters.
Ravi needs to come to terms with his fear of missing out and his ability to be in the now rather than not enjoying himself. The other characters help him let loose and stop and enjoy the moment.

Males, aged 35 to 60 from Manchester, UK

Tim

Tim is the helper character and has been on the train for 40 years. Tim died in the Falklands war and the characters stay in the body of how they boarded the train.
As Ravi's bunk mate he has to help him through the process of realising he has died and coping with that and then explaining to him how he must learn to exit the train into the real afterlife.
Tim is a light hearted character and pokes fun at the other characters, he cannot leave the train as he is waiting for his wife- Elaine.

Males, aged 17 to 25 from Manchester, UK

Ingrid

Ingrid is seen as a mother and nurturer on board the train, she has been on board for around 5 years and is one of Tim's best friends.
Ingrid helps look after Ravi and point him in the right direction during his journey on the train, whilst also looking after 16 year old Cecelia who the other characters spend a while warming too.
Ingrid has to get over her fear of heights but also the fear of not being needed in order to journey into the real afterlife and does this with the help of everyone.

Females, aged 35 to 60 from Manchester, UK

Alf

Alf is Tim's best friend and has been on the train for around 3 years. Alf died through a freak accident suddenly and see's Tim as his big brother when he boards the train. He follows Tim around on his adventures and often gets in trouble with Ingrid for doing so.
Alf explains what is happening to Ravi when he first boards the train and helps him get used to it.
Alf has always felt misunderstood and with the help of Ravi and Cecelia he manages to start working through his hang ups of life.

Cecelia

Cecelia is a supporting role and boards the train at the same time as Ravi. Cecelia committed suicide which is something the train passengers frown upon as the majority of them didn't want to die so soon.
Cecelia is mothered by Ingrid and has Ravi stand up for her in order for the rest of the passengers to start welcoming her on the train.
Cecelia has never felt loved and needs to work on that before she can make it to the real afterlife, which Ravi and especially Alf help with.

Females, aged 16 to 22 from Manchester, UK

Trip

The cast member for this role must be big built as Trip really enjoys the food on the train and did during his life too. As the characters don't really know what happens when you exit the train, Trip cannot leave the train as on the train you can eat whatever you like and not put any weight on and Trip isn't sure whether thats the case in the real afterlife. At a point further along in the feature length he professes that he is full!
But during the short he is brash and straight to the point.

Urvashi

Urvashi is a supporting role and will only be required for a maximum of two days shooting. Urvashi teaches yoga on the train and spends her time looking after people and helping them realise what their hang-ups are that are keeping them on the train.
Ravi is immediately rude and abrasive to her and she gets him back later on during a yoga class!
Urvashi cannot exit the train as she left a lot of her family behind and has the need to help people and look after and nurture people.

Darlene

The cast member for Darlene will be required for a maximum of two days shooting and if younger than 16 their parental guardian will be required to attend the set with them. May need to swear- can be negotiated.
Darlene has been on the train for many years and is really 27, she is waiting for her family to board the train and cannot let go of those relationships which is why she hasn't entered the real afterlife. She spends a lot of her time looking for characters who may disappear and reappear.

Females, aged 6 to 16 from Manchester, UK

Arthur

The cast member for Arthur will be required for one day of shooting. Arthur felt as though he hoarded all of his money in real life and did not spend enough whilst he was alive, as the train does not need any form of money, Arthur has decided that each day he will try and make it back to real life, although when jumping of the train daily he finds himself back in his train bunk each morning.

He smokes a heavy drooping Cigar and wears and oversized black suit and is around 105.

Irene

Irene and Doris will be required for a maximum of 2 days filming. They are the first characters, other than Tim that Ravi meets and they try and calm him down trying to get him to the dining carriage.
Each morning these two lovely, warm elderly women stand by the train door and smoke cigarettes, Tim goes past each morning and say 'That'll kill you that will', every morning they laugh and carry on smoking. They are very kind and are both bubbly characters.

Doris

Irene and Doris will be required for a maximum of 2 days filming. They are the first characters, other than Tim that Ravi meets and they try and calm him down trying to get him to the dining carriage.
