The OPERA Project (Older People, Equity, Respect & Ageism) is a collaboration between Eastern Community Legal Centre and Swinburne University to co-create a digital story with older people living in the Eastern region of Victoria . The video will aim to raise awareness about age discrimination as a primary driver of elder abuse, and help communities to understand the link between the drivers of elder abuse and the act of elder abuse itself. The video story will contribute to, and enhance the existing community education packages delivered by ECLC on elder abuse. In addition to this, the media story will be shared more broadly across the sector to assist in building capacity to better understand the links between the drivers of elder abuse and elder abuse.
