Onstage or in the studio, I work hard to sound my best. I home in on my vocal tone, focussing on what would suit the individual song, set, or band (i.e.: it might sound better in a soul band if I sang with the same tone throughout, or for a wedding gig playing covers I might use similar vocal traits as the original artist depending on the song).
I'm typically a baritone, and my vocal range is approximately from F2 to A5.
Performing onstage and interacting with the audience comes naturally to me and I love it. I feed off their energy, as well as the band's, and I always leave the stage after a great show wanting to play more for them. I'm used to gigging, helping setting equipment, and travelling across the country to play, and I love it all.
The styles I sing are soul, rock, pop, jazz and blues. My main influences for singing are - to name a few - Paul Rodgers (Bad Company); Brad Delp (Boston); Steve Perry (Journey); Graham Bonnet (Rainbow). My onstage persona is inspired by Billie-Joe Armstrong (Green Day), Michael Buble, and Freddie Mercury.
