In 2016 I was nominated for best actress at Idyllwilld festival of cinema and FICSAM festival of mental health, Portugal for my portrayal of Jean Rose -a woman with early onset lewy body dementia- in the award winning featurette, 'Where Did You Go?' As co writer of the script I also won best screenplay for this film which has so far won six awards and is continuing entry and competiing at international film festivals throughout 2017.
Since January 2017 I have been focusing on further film work and have played five roles in short films currently in post production; Sharon, the neighbour from hell in ' Fridge' - a comedy short for the Yellow Spot Collective, the long suffering wife Velma in 'Painting a Pretty Picture' for UWE, the eccentric dog loving Aunt Clarissa in the comedy short 'It's a Ruff Life', Mavis in 'Last Innings' - a comedy zombie short - both for Gloucester University and most recently as Diane, an apparently Conventional but eccentric mum in 'How to Survive Mercury in Retrograde' an energetic comedy short (Linn Sunniva Høglund). I have , since then, completed two feature films - 'Bonjour Aurevoir' (actresss/ElizabethI) an online feature film and 'An Inspector Calls' as the domineering Mrs Birling.
I have fifteen years professional performing experience in theatre and regional touring, having played a multitude of leading roles; Bernada in 'The House of Bernada Alba'. Meg in 'Treasure Island', the White Witch in 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe', Mrs Medlock in 'The Secret Garden' and as Elizabeth the First in 'Preparing for Elizabeth' a one woman show written and produced by myself, premiering in sell out shows at the Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham and going on to tour regionally throughout the UK.
For seven years previously I performed as part of TaurusVoice Theatre Company (winner of best children's show Brighton Festival) and specializing in devised shows incorporating singing and choral poetry. I performed both in leading roles and as part of the ensemble. Productions include; 'Voices in Love', 'Silenced', 'The Snow Queen', 'Antigone' and 'Pinocchio'.
Currently I also run a successful community choir in my home town.
