I have been dancing since I was a very young child and branched into pretty much almost every kind of dance there is: Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, Street, Salsa, Argentine Tango, Latin and Ballroom (10 dance; Jive, Paso Doble, Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Tango, Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Quick Step, Foxtrot), Ceroc, Bachata, Zouk, Kizombe, American Smooth, Burlesque, Pole etc with a few exceptions.
I have won many titles and trophies over the years of these types of dancing including the Intermediate World Modern Jive Champion. I have only recently ventured out into Latin and Ballroom however I have already done a few demonstrations, mainly for singers including; Barbara Bryceland off the televsion show the voice which was filmed by the BBC for a documentary.
I am currently studying Drama and Performance at University, where I have been involved in various societies including the dance society, drama society and Cheerleading. All of which I have participated in the Choreography of different competition and show dance routines. Firstly the Dance Society I helped piece together a competition winning Contemporary routine, the moves themselves were not extremely tricky due to the fact I was dealing with inexperienced dancers, so made the music more epic to highlight the dancing. The Drama Society asked me to help them come up with a Cell Block Tango influenced showcase piece that involved speaking roles, so I had to be careful to not have the speaker being to active that it would ruin their vocal performance but not standing stationary, also this was all on a very small budget including costumes etc but we pulled it off and looked pretty impressive and scary! Cheerleading, on the other hand was a little hard to choreograph as Cheer dance is a form of dance I had never done before but once I got started, the creative juices just started flowing!
I am currently working on a Chicago themed Showcase for competition, which involves six dancers. As they are from all over Scotland and England, it is hard to have rehearsals together, so I must get the choreography set and try to think about how six dancers would move around the space to come up with something genius. All the music is complete and we have started work on the routine, I have a helper who gives me ideas and helps with different positions etc, which is very helpful as its more than just my opinion on a performance which is very important when it comes to a group showcase.
I have said only a little of my dancing experience but didn't want to turn this into an essay. Please contact me, I would love to be part of the troupe.
