Production
I have over 15 years of studio experience including 4 years as a full-time music producer for Destiny Church Glasgow. Within my 4 years with Destiny I recorded/produced/mixed 2 full-length studio albums which have been commercially released. I have recorded and released two solo albums. I currently work with many and varying artists from my own studio.
Recording
I am extremely comfortable and confident using all kinds of studio equipment, pre-amps, microphones, external effects processors and plugins. I primarily use Logic Pro which I am extremely proficient in.
Mixing
I would say mixing is one of my favourite parts of the production process - I really enjoy hearing everything coming together and being balanced in the best way possible. Every song is different and unique to work on, so each requires attention in a different way. I find it helpful to listen to a song on as many different sets of speakers as I can to see how the mix transfers on different speakers.
Musical Ability
I am proficient in the following instruments: Drums, percussion, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, synth, voice. I am also highly competent at programming whole tracks, original drum patterns and all kinds of electronic music in many different styles and genres.
Songwriting/Composition
I have written and recorded a large amount of songs and pieces of music. I have experience in coming up with strong melodies and hooks for songs both on my own and as part of a co-writing team.
As well as songwriting I have experience in composing music and jingles for companies on request. Two pieces of music which I have written have recently been used in adverts one of which has been aired on STV and another which will be aired around the Christmas period on television and radio.
