Though Sarah's background/day job is in film composition, one of her greatest passions is singing and songwriting. Sarah had a couple of hit songs and No 1 albums with Hayley Westenra and has been nominated for a Brit Award with her own album, Aurora.
Very inspired by the natural world, Sarah loves to travel, paint and write poetry.
She had written the score to The Weekend, starring Gena Rowlands and Brooks Shields when she was noticed by Sir George Martin who took her under the wing of his publishing company.
Around this time Sarah started to write material for herself and do live gigs both in the UK and abroad. The music could be described as retro folk/acoustic pop.
Melody driven music is a great source of inspiration, here are a few of Sarah's favourites. (For so many different reasons), The Beatles, John Lennon, Nick Drake, James Taylor, Gillian Welch, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, Simon and Garfunkel, Neil Finn.. many more..
Sarah has played the piano since the age of 4 and also plays guitar.
