I am a British Kiwi freelance director of photography, photographer and filmmaker based in Auckland, New Zealand making digital content for local and global clients, production companies, social media platforms and advertising industries in the Oceania and South East Asia regions.
My interest in music documentary lead to creating ILC Productions Ltd in 2005, an independent New Zealand film company specialising in making biopic stories and documentary projects with Artists in UK, US and Europe for Universal, EMI and Decca Labels. This evolved into a full-length feature story called ‘The Death and Resurrection Show’, a feature length documentary film on the UK band ‘Killing Joke’, with rock legends ‘Jimmy Page’ and ‘Dave Grohl’. The film is considered to be unique & one of the top 50 music documentaries to date. It has been described as ‘stunning in its intensity and an outstanding musical biography’. The film was purchased by The Sundance TV Network for a global deal.
I am also grateful that my work has received recognition for story-telling skills, directing, cinematography & photography, including One Show, Gold merits at Cannes, London, Hong Kong, Singapore, New York and Spikes Advertising Award Shows. Awards, screenings and nominations at the New Zealand TV and Film Awards, finalist with the New Zealand International Film and Vienna Short Film Festivals. The Killing Joke Film was an official selection to sold out screenings at the prestigious British and Dutch Film Institutes, In Edit, Rokumentti Film and Cine-City Festivals in 2015.
ILC Productions has since broadened into a small boutique cinematic storytelling crew bringing a documentary nose and eye to all forms of commercials, documentary and branded social content.
